back to stephanie again. she tells me that all anyone is doing is focused on the numbers in lat tip america. so a stock that has been sinking goes flying up. it ends up being one of the best performing stocking. again, a huge move for this one. believe me, if these were isolated examples i would be fine with them. but there are so many like this, you can see why all of this trading is fraught with calamity and chances for you to lose money with every twist and turn. i sure liked the look of ibm and google earnings and i liked the way the stocks traded after the close. until i hear the conference call myself, i am not going to pronounce them as terrific. i'm goi ining to say come on ji. >> how can you blame me for not wanting to pull these quarters apart myself? do the analysis myself? my charitiable trust, it is not idle chatter when i say these are the worst times of the year to try and make money. even if the data points are meaningless or wrong. please, stop, look, listen before you take action. that is if

a lot of reasoning about why stephanie link and i co-director believe in this. it pays you a solid 3.7% yield while you're waiting. next up, yeah, there's china. not done. chinese economy has been in the process of bottoming for a while now. i think the genuine turn could be at hand. we know the chinese central bank has been aggressively providing capital injections to banks. last year they cut the reserve requirement three times, interest rates twice. i expect their policy to remain easy. capital injections turned the tide. hit record levels in september/october. something that's helped the chinese economy dramatically as we see from numerous improving macrodata points. purchasing managers numbers, industrial production, retail sales, housing numbers, you name it. china has beaten inflation, they have the flexibility to do more juice to the economy if they need to. the chinese party just got a new leadership in november. these guys are anxious to make a good impression by getting the economy up to speed. they did get it wrong. they were too tight. they've seen

when i sat down with co-portfolio manager stephanie link to talk about that shortfall she immediately bet me ten bucks the stock would not only be above the $68 level where it fell to immediately after preannounce but above the $73 mark where schlumberger was when the company announced the shortfall. schlumberger today traded up to $79. lost that bet. i guess i've got to pay her the ten bucks. accenture at one time my favorite consulting company recently reported earnings and gave an outlook that chilled me. simply inconceivable a company of that consistent caliber could blow up the way it did. i felt so terrible -- i said wow, how lucky i am, i dodged a bullet because i was going to tell people to buy the stock. i did on the game plan but i didn't do it thank you for -- i didn't buy it for my charitable trust. but holy cow it went right from 71 to 65. it was just hideous. today accenture took out the level where it was before the hideous shortfall. is it any wonder that fellow consultant s.a.p. which also acknowledged weakness on its conference call is back to where it was before it
